Benefits of lithium over lead acid

– weigh less (often 1/3).
– can safely be inside the trailer (no off-gassing).
– can be discharged to 10% compared to 50%.
– more charge cycles over the life of the battery.

Note: To protect the trailer wiring, you’ll want to install a Class T fuse on the positive side of the battery.

– If your trailer has a factory solar package, you can keep the factory converter and let the solar top off the battery.
– 2022 and newer trailers will most likely have a lithium compatible converter. WFCO 8955-AD is a common model.
