When you’re connected to shore power or a generator, it’s very important to use a surge protector.

A basic surge protector doesn’t actively monitor the incoming power like an EMS version It disconnects the power for low or high voltage. This is a very important feature and will protect your appliances and devices in the trailer.

Portable
Pros
– Can test the wiring at the pole before parking the trailer.
Cons
– Can be lost, stolen or left at home.
– No wiring involved

Hardwired
Pros
– Can’t be stolen, lost or left at home.
Cons
– Involves wiring the unit inside the trailer and finding a good spot to mount it.
