If your trailer has a factory solar package, you can keep the factory converter and let the solar top off the battery.

The antenna I use

Another attic style antenna

Flat antenna. Easier to store.


I connect the antenna coax cable to the satellite port on the outside of the trailer and the tv to the satellite port on the inside of the trailer. This will bypass the trailer’s antenna booster but you won’t need it with this setup.

Extendable pole

RG6 coax cable
Measure the length you need from the antenna, when raised, to the outside satellite port.

Since it’s safe to put a lithium battery inside the trailer, you may find yourself wanting to redo the wiring.

Note: the breakaway switch should be connected to the battery side of the disconnect switch.
