How to Install a Hardwired Surge Protector

Note: If possible, I would recommend moving the orange 10 ga wire to the surge protector and running a new wire between the surge protector and the power panel.

• Locate a safe, dry location.

• Disconnect the trailer from shore power and cut the supply romex (often 10 ga orange).

• Strip the wires.

• Familiarize yourself with the internals of the surge protector.

• Connect the upstream (incoming) wires.

• Connect the downstream (outgoing) wires.
• Face the current sensor the correct way by looking at the arrow (see manual).

• Screw the cover on.

• Connect the remote display.
• Connect the trailer to shore power and verify all the values (incoming voltage, no errors, etc) are correct.
